HEADLINES: Going for Gold, Puddings and Praise, Ripon College
+-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
"These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is
strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and
purifies gold - and your faith is far more precious to God
than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being
tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and
glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to
the whole world." 1 Peter 1:7

><> Puddings and Praise Social Evening by Lucy Betts
+-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
The Housegroups led by Val Wolstenholme and Lucy Betts would
like to invite all Christians in the area to a social evening
on Monday 7th June between 8pm and 10pm at the Wheatley URC
hall. It will be a relaxed evening with puddings to enjoy,
and an opportunity for Christians from the many churches in
the village, surrounding villages and those who worship in
the larger towns to get know one another and praise the Lord
together!
If you would like to come along, please let Lucy Betts
(01865 875436 or Lucy.Betts@ntlworld.com) or Val Wolstenholme
(01865 876893) know, so we can get the right number of
puddings created!

><> Going for Gold Update by Kath McNee
+-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
Well folks! Exciting to watch all that is happening in
preparation for the Summer Camp and all things 'Going for
GOLD'! All but TWO of our 'appointments' have been filled for
our April targets ~ which is wonderful. Please be praying
that we have someone who comes forth to be our 'Lead Runner'
and 'Producer' of the Dramas that are about to unfold!!!!
Already we have a possible 6 Team Coaches and two junior
runners to work alongside them! SO, as you can see ... we are
OFF and RACING!
Please pray for more team coaches to come forward who will be
at the Primary School during the events in the last week in
August to lead the children through the All-ympic games! Pray
for the organisation of the week - there are many practical
issues to be considered; and for follow up strategies for the
children who attend / a possible weekly club / coordination
with existing children's work in the village.

+-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
Praise psalm (2) by David Herring
+-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
The Lord is my delight; in Him I take refuge.
He will lead me in the way of the humble; He will teach me
His righteousness.
When my eyes fail, He will cause me to see, and He will open
the eyes of the blind: yes, the proud will fall down before
Him, and their sight will be restored, for He alone is King
of kings, and He only is the Lord.
Though I suffer pain and sorrow, yet joy and peace will be my
portion, and His Light will guide me through the valleys. I
will trust in Him alone; His Wisdom and Counsel will bring
me integrity and respect, as His servant who trusts in Him.
Those who walk in His ways He will prosper, and in them He
will delight, for He is their Heavenly Father, and they are
His children. All Power and Glory belong to Him, and He
will look down on His afflicted ones, and raise them up.
There are no depths where He is not present, and no
darkness where He is not the Light, for He knows the way
that we follow, and that we are human; therefore He looks
upon our helplessness in mercy and love, and those who turn
to Him in their distress He will not turn away.
Sing to the Lord a joyful song! Sound His praises throughout
the earth, for His ways are glorious, and His mercy and
love are without measure. Therefore those who trust in Him
will be filled with His songs, and will delight in His
praises: their dwellings will be full of singing to Him Who
protects His people, and watches over them; their voices
will cause the walls within which they sing to resound with
the joy of the Lord.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord! Let all whom He sets free by
His Word rejoice in Him for ever. May Earth find freedom in
Him.
