Seaside Rock Summer Club by Dan Evenhuis
    +-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
During Seaside Rock we have had such an exciting time as over
100 children from the Wheatley area have experienced
something of the Christian Faith through the lives of the 35
volunteers, and heard the gospel message through the stories
    of Peter the Disciple.
On the Sunday we had a celebration service that filled the
school hall. From the great music to a fantastic Christian
message brought to us by Mark Williams and Snowy Bear.
Children and their families were able to celebrate the week
and then join together for a BBQ and Tug-O-War afterwards.
Some of the comments we received from parents were:
"My girl has loved every moment of Seaside Rock. The
activities have been very good and the volunteers brilliant"
"My child couldn't wait until she came back the next day"
"Seaside Rock has been fantastic - so well organised and the
children have had so much fun"
"Seaside Rock was the perfect end to the summer holidays"
The goals of the week were to make a difference for children
and families in the community by providing:
    - Opportunities to experience a community of hope and
acceptance through regular 'open to all' activities based
      on Christian values.
    - Opportunities to form and develop relationships with people
      of all ages
    - A united church, working together to serve the community
We'd like to thank all those who have made this event
possible. As relationships have been knitted together, we
pray that through this programme and others like it, God
would strengthen our community and encourage the children and
their families to explore the Christian Faith further.

ParenTALK - Parenting is not easy! By Gordon and Jill Ewbank
    +-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
‘ParenTALK’ is an eight week course designed to give parents
the opportunity to share their experiences, learn from each
other and discover some important principles of parenting.
We are planning to help run this course on Monday evenings,
starting 26th September, at The Merry Bells, Wheatley (in the
coffee room). The course is open to anyone—please contact us
for further details on either 01865 873326 or

    Youth Café by Danni Evenhuis
    +-----------------------------+-----------------------------+
The Wheatley Cafe is going well with new people coming each
afternoon. We have a great team of volunteers. Pray for us
as we are doing a letter drop of 'What's on at the Wheatley
Youth Cafe' and are trying to get a lot more creative in the
venue. Thank God that all our physical needs for the venue
are being met thanks to the generosity of local Christians in
    the area.

Have you a few months to spare (between one and twelve,
starting as soon as possible)? Are you good at practical
caring? Would you come and help to look after me in Oxford?
I am a girl of nearly 18, I have had ME for several years,
and although I am getting a little stronger I spend most of
my time in bed and need company, and help with some quite
basic things. My mother also has ME and needs to rest a lot,
so some help with cooking, washing, shopping, walking my dog
(placid golden retriever bitch), etc., would be appreciated.
I currently have a carer who comes in for four hours, three
days a week, a cleaner comes two mornings a week, and my
father is around in the evenings and at weekends, but we are
looking for one or two people who will live in and generally
help to run the household (which doesn’t mean physically
being there all the time, but there will be about 6 hours
needed a day, with a day off, and sharing weekend duties).
We will provide free board and lodging and £100 a week
(split as appropriate between two). It might be possible to
combine this with a part-time job for a few hours a week
outside the home. Anstice Garfitt, 01865 721861; or e-mail
